“A form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator”(WordNet, 2013) where a person ruled without resistance and the decision maker for the whole country which was like the system of monarchy as the King ruled all with lords serving him as the dictator also has advisors who give him advise which he may or may not consider using and are often considered as a tyrant. Famous dictators in history are Aldolf Hitler, Julius Caesar, Mao Zedong, Saddam Hussein and Joseph Stalin, all of them fitted the description of the above and was described as the “bad guy” in history. In Animal Farm Napoleon was the dictator as he ruled without much resistance and was the decision maker through military force(the dogs) and lies that spread fear through the animals. When Napoleon decided he wanted the animals to work harder he gave them an indirect order and “Napoleon announced that there would be work on Sunday afternoons as well. This work was strictly voluntary, but any animal who absented himself from it would have his rations reduced by half.” (Pg. 24) the rations were already meager and it would be impossible to survive if their rations got divided in half.
